The Lowrance HDS Generation 2 GPS Chartplotter ushers in a new level of speed and responsivness. With the Gen2 HDS-5M you will notice the improvements right away with it's faster start-up, lightning-fast chartpanning and zooming speeds. All this is capable because Lowrance doubled tha amount of memory and processor speed. The HDS-5M has a 5" sunlight viewable, 480 x 480 5’ SolarMAX PLUS display that can bee seen in virtually any lighting condition. The brighter and clearer display also offers a much wider viewing angle and Lowrance even backlit the keypad for nighttime use. Locating your position is a cinch for HDS-5M with its super-sensitive 16-channel internal GPS antenna. And if you find yourself in a situation for an external antenna, like a pilot house or enclosed bridge, you can always add the Lowrance Point-1 external GPS antenna.


The Lowrance HDS-5M comes pre-loaded with all of the maps that most boaters would ever need. The built-in enhanced US base map includes most inland lakes with shoreline detail. For the coastal boater, Lowrance included their exclusive Nautic Insight maps for a whole new level of coastal mapping. The Nautic Insight mapping system includes contour shading for stunning perspectives of bottom structure and topography of coastal waters. Also built-in are offshore depth contours, spot sounding and navigational aids. If the Nautic Insight is not enough for you, the HDS5M will support Navionics Platinum, Platinum Plus and Platinum Hot Maps with TurboView.


Lowrance has partnered with MotorGuide to create a revolutionary link to offer boaters an entire new level of precision and control when it comes to navigation. PinpointConnect is a seamless interface that links all Lowrance HDS Gen2 and Gen2 Touch models to MotorGuide’s Xi5 Wireless Trolling Motor for advanced navigation. It’s now easier than ever to stay locked onto a submerged wreck, follow a route you’ve created on your Gen2 Chartplotter of an old road bed, or even lock in the cruise control to maintain a constant speed against the wind or current. It is top priority of this partnership to provide users with the crucial tools needed to catch more fish and enhance their overall experience on the water for years to come.
